Mt. Fuji is an active volcano in Southwest of Tokyo including three successive volcanoes. Japannese always like to be with nature and respect to the things in nature as if they were alive, so Mt. Fuji too is called as Fuji san in the sense of living respected person.
This has been considered as one of the pilgrimage site since centuries. Even now thousands of people including local and foreigners climb this really attractive mountain in summer either on foot or in cable car. The area where Fuji san is standing is rich in mineral rich hot springs.
